UPDATE: UAB is shutting down its football program

UAB is officially shutting down the football program despite a turnaround in record and attendance. However, that’s just as big news to Tennessee because the two teams were scheduled to start the season next year against each other. The Volunteers will have to scramble to find another opponent, but there is no word on who they might go after to fill the spot. Many teams have already scheduled their 2015 season so UT will probably have a hard time finding another FBS team to play and may look towards the division below to find a willing adversary.
