This high-profile Ohio State commit publicly spurned Michigan's advances

Michigan's annual "BBQ at the Big House" has been a significant recruiting hotbed for Jim Harbaugh and his staff, but the upcoming event will not include at least one prominent Ohio State commit. 2017 defensive back Shaun Wade indicated to Evan Petzold of SB Nation's Maize n Brew that he will not be attending the event, even after an express invite from the Wolverines.

This is a big-time win for Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes, as Wade is a consensus top-20 recruit in this year's recruiting class (including a number 13 overall ranking for ESPN) and would act as a gem of Ohio State's incoming group. Michigan will be attempting to land top overall recruit (and Alabama commit) Najee Harris during the event this weekend, but it appears that Ohio State fans can exhale at the fact that Harbaugh will not be able to "flirt" with Wade in this public forum.

As for takeaways, the battle between Harbaugh and Meyer, both on the recruiting trail and on the football field, will continue to be must-see viewing for fans of both programs, as well as those who follow the sport nationally. This important round, however, goes to Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
