Tayland Humphrey is one of the top junior college recruits in the nation, and according to Josh Edwards of 247Sports, he has an idea of where he wants to play big-time college football.
Edwards spoke to Hutchinson Community College coach Thaddeus Brown, who relayed that the 6-foot-5, 350-pound defensive tackle is highest on Oklahoma State, Louisville, Alabama and Florida International.
Of course, one of these things is not like the other, and that's Florida International. But Edwards relays that Humphrey's younger brother, John Bolding III, is an FIU recruit, so it makes sense that the Panthers are in the running for the four-star JUCO recruit.
Of course, one has to imagine that Alabama will have a pretty good shot at his commitment, and the pitch there is pretty easy. "Hey, want to win national championships and then go on to play in the NFL?"
Yeah, Nick Saban's job is pretty easy.
FIU may actually have a great shot at this considering the family connection, so it's going to be interesting to see how things shake out for the big defensive tackle. As is the case with many recruits, official visits may end up being a pretty big deciding factor, so stay tuned.
According to the industry generated 247Sports Composite, Humphrey is the No. 3 JUCO player in the 2018 class. He checks in as the No. 2 defensive tackle and boasts offers from 26 schools, so he's a big deal.
