When Star Wars: Battlefront launched its open beta, it marked the first and last time many would ever play the game. With a distinct lack of content thinly veiled behind the glossy sheen of the Frostbite engine, Battlefront failed to impress a sizable portion of its player base, and the game suffered (albeit only a little) on release thanks to the early impressions many had been given.

So, its arguable that the developers must have a lot of confidence in their product to launch a similar event for Star Wars: Battlefront 2. The event is scheduled to begin on Oct. 4th for those who pre-ordered the game and Oct. 6 for everyone else.

The event will run until Wednesday, Oct. 9 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. According to the game's website, players will have access to the city of Theed, where they'll be able to play through the Galactic Assault game mode as either the Separatist battle droids or the Republic clone troopers (Sorry Jar Jar fans, no Gungans).
Although few details have been revealed about it, the Starfighter Assault game mode will be included in the beta as well. For more details on that, stay tuned to Gamescom, where additional information is scheduled to be revealed.
In addition to entering the beta two days early, those who pre-order will also have access to bonus content; a unique Epic Lightsaber Mastery Star Card will be provided to anyone who purchases Star Wars: Battlefront 2 before October 9 or "while supplies last."
