Nintendo announces E3 2017 schedule

This will be the first chance to see real gameplay from the upcoming Super Mario Odyssey.

According to a statement over its official Twitter account, Nintendo will be presenting at this year's E3 on June 13th at 12:00 PM EST.

This will be our first chance to see real gameplay from the upcoming Super Mario Odyssey, which had fans of the series conflicted in its initial reveal earlier this year. The game, which seems to captured the charm and aesthetics of the series, nonetheless generated mixed reactions for its transition to a full 3D open world similar to what Sonic Adventure did to the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.

In addition to Mario, fans have already begun optimistically predicting reveals related to their favorite titles. While a new entry in the Pokémon franchise seems likely, suspicions over a new Metroid seem a little unfounded. At the very least, the Nintendo Switch is expected to receive a number of new games due to its immense success in the United States, where it is even today still sold out in most stores.

Nintendo's presentation will also include a live broadcast of the 2017 Splatoon 2 World Inkling Invitational. So, you know, if you're into that genre of eSports, it will be available as well.

E3 2017 will be broadcast live over the official E3 YouTube channel. For future updates from Nintendo, follow their Twitter account, or visit their website for information about their products.
