Potential FSU starter sidelined by surgery

This might explain some things.

Marcus Lewis was hoping to have a better 2016 season than he did as he was pulled from his starting spot by the sixth game of the season. He sat out the last five games and was listed as having hip issues.

Noles247 is reporting that the injury was serious enough to warrant surgery and he even saw a specialist outside of the state. He allowed 15 of 20 passes in which he was targeted to be completed, according to Pro Football Focus so maybe it was his hip that was the deciding factor in the poor play or he could have been playing poorly before. It's unclear when the hip injury flared up.

Lewis is expected to regain his starting spot with Marquez White graduating.
