Tim Tebow does not appear to be a believer of the Big Ten.
In an appearance on ESPN's First Take on Friday, Tebow said that he believes the winner of the Big Ten Championship between Wisconsin and Ohio State will be selected to the College Football Playoff... something he would vehemently disagree with.
Tebow believes that Alabama should be taking that final spot, citing one committee criteria to put in the "four best teams" into the Playoff.
I'm saying [Wisconsin] is not one of the four best teams, and if you're telling me that it's the four best teams, Max, then it can't be who's most deserving, who's undefeated, it has to be the four best teams. And you and me both know that if right here in the Mercedes Benz Dome, if Alabama played Wisconsin, they would probably beat the breaks off of 'em.
It's an interesting take from Tebow, as the "deserving" and "best team" labels can be very difficult to separate at times. Tebow also isn't wrong about the perception on Alabama being better than the Badgers, as the Crimson Tide are still the betting favorite to win the national championship (tied at +375 with Oklahoma and Clemson as of press time) even though they are currently on the outside looking in.
However, Tebow says he still expects the Big Ten Champion to make the College Football Playoff regardless of what he thinks, but Tebow won't be the only one shaking his head if the Big Ten representative into the Playoff has a poor performance in the semifinal for the third consecutive year.
