After reeling in three commits from the same school, one program makes leap in recruiting rankings

One powerhouse is rising in the recruiting rankings after receiving three commitments over the weekend.

LSU capitalized on a massive recruiting weekend and moved up to No. 2 in the 247 team recruiting rankings for 2018.

Ed Orgeron and the Tigers received commitments from three different prospects from Rome High School in Rome, Georgia, which gave LSU 16 total commitments for the Class of 2018.

The Rome prospects, headlined by four-star outside linebacker Adam Anderson, catapulted the Tigers to No. 2 in the rankings over Penn State according to the recruiting site.

Miami is still the top team in the recruiting rankings with 18 commitments, but LSU is gaining on them, and the Tigers are by far the top team in the SEC in recruiting.

There's still plenty of time until 2018 National Signing Day, so the Tigers and plenty of other teams will have a chance to surpass Miami for the top spot in recruiting.
