Four-star and 376-pound behemoth DT Shelvin Tyler receives word on eligiblity with LSU

This is a brutal decision.

One of the jewels of LSU's most recent recruiting class was 6-foot-3, 376-pound defensive tackleTyler Shelvin who was expected to see some playing time at nose tackle since the Tigers are thin along the defensive line. It looks like they're going to stay thin as Shelvin will not be able to play this year because of eligibility issues, according to the Baton Rouge Advocate.

Shelvin was set to enroll in classes and still will, but he won't be able to play in any games and help the Tigers this year. He will be forced to redshirt and the Tigers will lose the best recruit in the state of Louisiana from this recruiting cycle. He was also ranked the No. 4 DT  and No. 54 recruit overall in the country by 247Sports.

Shelvin was also considering Texas A&M, Alabama and Nebraska heading into college.
