It has been almost a week since the wrestling world mourned the tragic and unfortunate passing of the wife of Jim Ross. Jan Ross was a beloved figure in the industry and, in the days to follow, more and more detail has emerged as to just how the terrible event transpired.
As a part of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed the following about the vespa incident that cost Mrs. Ross her life (h/t sportskeeda):
"She was like a block from the garage. It was a hill and I believe she was going down a hill, and the car was going down a hill, didn't see her, and ran her over.
I believe the 17 year old boy who was doing that, who went to Norman High School, was texting at the time."
This is brutal news in that the accident absolutely could have been avoided should the young man have paid closer attention to what he was doing. Before her tragic passing, Ross and the entire wrestling universe were praying for a miracle but, in the end, Jan Ross was unable to survive the accident.
Further details might emerge in the coming days but, for now, we know that Mrs. Ross is unfortunately gone and the incident could have been avoided. Don't text and drive.
