Super Bowl contender admits it is considering adding Colin Kaepernick, Robert Griffin III

This would be quite the move.

Colin Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III are still unemployed, but that could change in the near future.

The Seattle Seahawks have some depth issues at quarterback, and coach Pete Carroll admitted they were looking into bringing in Kaepernick or RGII during an appearance on the Brock and Salk show on 710 ESPN in Seattle.

"We're looking at everybody," Carroll said. "We really are. We've been tracking everything that's going on, and we've got cap and roster issues and stuff like that that we're still trying to manage properly. But quite frankly, yes, we are looking at all those guys."

Russell Wilson is clearly the starter still in Seattle, but the backup QB situation is a bit murky. Undrafted free agent Trevone Boykin served as Wilson's backup last season, but he was arrested on misdemeanor charges of marijuana possession and public intoxication. He was also arrested for violating parole on those charges.

There hasn't been much of a market for Kaepernick this offseason, and Seahawks defenders such as Richard Sherman and Michael Bennett believe he is being blackballed by the NFL for kneeling during the national anthem last season. Bennett and other Seahawks including Cliff Avril, Doug Baldwin and Jeremy Lane spoke out in favor of Kaepernick's protests last season.

Kaep was a former division rival of the Seahawks during his tenure with the San Francisco 49ers, but he would provide Seattle with much needed depth at QB for next season behind Wilson.
