For the great Tiger Woods, his final round of the 2020 Genesis Open is one he will quickly want to forget. He could do nothing right it seemed and a six-over 77 saw him finish the tournament in last place. There was one moment, however, that will be nearly impossible to forget from the PGA Tour event.
After an arrant tee shot — one of many he hit all week at Riviera Golf Course in Los Angeles, California — Woods went looking for his golf ball. As it turns out, the superstar golfer had to dig it out in a very unusual place: a trash can.
That's right. Woods had to pull his ball from the literal trash instead of it being in the fairway.

During his final round of the golf tournament, Woods mustered one eagle, one birdie, and had way more bogey putts than any golfer would have liked. However, it was the trash can that made it even crazier.
This was Woods' second event of 2020. After closing out last year at The ZOZO Championship in Japan, the Hero World Challenge in The Bahamas, and the Presidents Cup in Austrailia, Woods kicked off his PGA season at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, where he finished tied for 20th.
He skipped the Waste Management Phoenix Open and AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am before retuning to play at The Genesis Invitational.
The last place finish is definitely uncommon for Woods. He fired a 69 during his opening round, but it was all a downward spiral from there. Woods shot a 73 in the second round, a 76 in the third round and a 77 in his final round for an 11-over score.
Adam Scott ended up winning the golf tournament over a talented field that also included the likes of Rory McIlroy, Matt Kuchar, Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth and Phil Mickelson.
Woods is usually the guy who can do most of the trash talk, but last week at Riviera Country Club was not one of them. This wasn't the first time he's been bad, and it won't be his last, but let's just hope something like this doesn't happen during one of his tee times at Augusta or the U.S. Open later this year.
