NCAA football recruiting can be fickle. The Georgia Bulldogs have had quite a few big wins on the trail in recent months, but even Kirby Smart's squad isn't perfect. Class of 2022 five-star defensive tackle Bear Alexander was set to move to Athens and play for the Dawgs, but he decommitted in June 2021.
Alexander attended Denton Ryan High School in Fort Worth, Texas in 2020 and will attend Brewer High School in 2021. In any case, he's ready for college football. The "Big Bear" has plenty of teams interested in his services, but a few SEC contenders are starting to separate themselves from the rest of the pack.

Keithian "Bear" Alexander decommitted from the Dawgs to reopen his recruitment. That doesn't mean he won't still take his talents to Georgia, it just means he could want to explore other options.
Alexander has been heavily recruited by both Alabama and Texas A&M. The defensive lineman has also received interest from schools like Miami, Auburn, Baylor, Colorado, Florida, Georgia Tech, Illinois State, Kansas, LSU, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon, SMU, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, USC, Utah State and Vanderbilt.

Official visits have returned, and Alexander has taken a tour of Alabama, Miami and Texas thus far, with other trips on the way. Despite that, the Aggies look like the favorites to land the in-state prospect.
Head coach Jimbo Fisher is building a solid recruiting class for 2022, and his team will be in the thick of the College Football Playoff race for years. The big-bodied Bear Alexander could only add to that goal.

Alexander is a rare talent: the 247Sports Composite ranks him as a five-star player and the seventh-best defensive line prospect and seventh-best recruit in Texas in the entire 2022 recruiting class.
At 6-foot-3 and 325 pounds, there are few players as physically imposing as he is. Even though he only played half of his junior year due to transfer rules, he didn't miss a beat when he returned, and Denton Ryan went undefeated in 2020.

Bear Alexander is going to be an impact player when he joins the NCAA. The question of where he will play is still up in the air, but it's a good bet that he'll land with an SEC powerhouse. If he can live up to his potential, he'll have a fantastic shot to reach the NFL.
