Enai White is one of the most physically impressive members of the 2022 recruiting class. At 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, the junior has serious size and skill.
The weakside defensive end attends high school at Imhotep Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He works primarily as a lineman and tight end, but scouts believe that his future might be at linebacker.
White will be playing in the All-American Bowl in January 2022, an honor reserved for only the best high school prospects.
Imhotep Institute reached the second round of Pennsylvania state playoffs last year. The 2020 season was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, but the hope is that White will be instrumental in his team’s next playoff pushes.
Enai White Recruiting
There are 13 college football programs in the running for five-star defensive end Enai White’s services, and whichever one lands him will pose a threatening defense for years.
LSU, Penn State, and Tennessee are thought to be the three top schools in the lead to sign White. He has also entertained offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Kentucky, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Oregon State, Syracuse, Texas A&M, and USC.
The Buckeyes have been heavily invested in this 2022 class, so it would not be surprising to see them make a run at White, either.
Enai White Highlights
From the looks of these highlights, White has what it takes to be an impact player at the college level. Last year, he made 29 total tackles and sacked opposing quarterbacks three times. A lot can happen between now and his future, but scouts believe he has serious NFL Draft potential, perhaps in an early round.
Players at that size are imposing as professionals; when you’re 6-foot-5 as a high school junior, the sport opens up for you. The 247sports Composite lists White as a five-star recruit.
White won’t be able to rely on size forever, but he will enter the NCAA with a significant advantage.
