A great rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner can set the tone of the entire event. Whitney Houston, Lady Gaga, and Jimi Hendrix have all given audiences wonderful takes on the national anthem. Even though these versions are some of the most famous, there are plenty of other amateur performances that deserve recognition as well.
Jackson Dean blew the crowd away before one of his high school football games. Drake Winslow was just 3 when he stole our hearts with his rendition.
Astounding 15-year old sophomore Sam Keith delivered a spectacular version before a football game way back in 2014. Keith wasn't just a regular performer; he was also on the football team, making the switch from singing to playing all the more impressive.

Keith played on the football team at Nashoba Regional High School in Bolton, Massachusetts. As seen in the video here, the young man leaves his pregame warm-up and grabs a microphone. After a brief introduction, his majestic voice dazzles the entire crowd, from the fans to the cheerleaders to his teammates.
The video was posted on Keith's own YouTube channel, and it has been viewed nearly 1.5 million times.
Keith was no stranger to putting on a show, and it was not the first time his voice has starred in front of a crowd. He performed in his school's drama department and starred in their versions of Footloose and Les Miserables.
Today, Keith is a musical theater major at the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. He has since performed the anthem at various other football and basketball games, never losing his vocal ability.
Sam Keith may have been a solid football player, but his singing will leave you with goosebumps. He has an amazing talent, and what some believe is "the voice of an angel." He graduates from CCM in 2021, but it wouldn't surprise anyone if he ended up on Broadway in the future.
