Adam Vinatieri drug tested day after drilling 53-yard field goal

Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri is coming off a year where he only missed one field goal in the regular season, going 30 of 31. On Sunday in the wild card round against the Cincinnati Bengals, Vinatieri made all four FG attempts, including a 53-yarder.

He drilled the kick with ease, so, the NFL sent him a notice on Monday that he was chosen to be randomly drug tested. NFL drug tests, and who they choose, are not predetermined, but it sure is a coincidence that the 42-year-old was selected. His kicking buddy, Colts punter Pat McAfee, posted the note on Twitter.

I wonder if Bengals kicker Mike Nugent received a notice himself after nailing a career-long 57-yard FG.
