After an absolute rout of the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football, the Buffalo Bills, statistically, are on-pace to be the best offensive team in NFL history.
No, seriously. This is not an overreaction.
We have the numbers to back this up.

Now, this could be the Buffalo Bills starting off hot. But when looking at the opponents the Bills have turned into a hot queso dip this season, it includes last season's Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams and the No. 1 seed from the AFC in last season's playoffs, the aforementioned Tennessee Titans.
Sure, the Titans lost A.J. Brown, but it's not like he was the only reason they made it there. There's this dude named Derrick Henry who's also pretty solid. Oh, and their coach? Yeah, he's also pretty solid.
With the Rams, they're going through some Super Bowl hangover symptoms — not as badly as the Bengals at least — but they're also one of those teams that wins every game on paper. The game isn't played on paper, but for nerds that like numbers and stuff, the Rams should be better than they've played.
Now, back to the Buffalo Bills.

Over those two games against opponents that aren't nearly as bad as they looked against the Buffalo Bills, the Bills' points for is 72 and their points against is 17.
Read that again if you have to.
In two weeks, the Bills have scored 72 points, and they've given up 17. In two weeks!
That puts their net points at +55 on the season, and while it's still very early, this could be the best offensive (and defensive) performance by a team in NFL history.

- 2007 New England Patriots: +315 points
- 1942 Chicago Bears: +292 points
- 1999 St. Louis Rams: +284 points
- 1961 Houston Oilers: +271 points
- 1962 Green Bay Packers: +261 points
To see if the Bills can surpass the 2007 Patriots — one of the best NFL teams of all time — it's important to see how many points they scored per game, as well as how many they gave up.

As of Week 2 of the NFL season, here's how the Bills stand.
In two weeks, the Buffalo Bills have scored 72 points, so when divided by two, the average points scored per game for the Bills is 36 points. On the flip side, the Buffalo Bills have allowed 17 points in two weeks, meaning their average points allowed per game is 8.5 points.
The 2007 New England Patriots will be a tough team to beat, no doubt. The '07 Patriots averaged 36.8 points per game while allowing 17.1 points per game.
So, if the season were to end today — which it doesn't — the Bills would at least average a better differential per game.
With that said, however, it's going to take a season-long performance like the Bills have been able to pull off for two weeks to even get close to the Patriots' record.
That said, if there's a team to do it, how fitting would it be for the Bills to do it: A team with a 7-33 record overall against the Patriots.
We'll see if the city of buffalo wings and broken collapsible tables can do the unthinkable and have the best single-season point differentials in NFL history. As of now, it's looking possible.
