FSU commit Cam Akers wins prestigious award before landing on campus

He earned this one.

Five-star running back Cam Akers has already committed to Florida State and plans to enroll early. As if Seminoles fans couldn't get enough good news, the 5'11", 212-pound back was also just named the U.S. Army All-American Player of the Year.

The No. 2 running back in the country also played quarterback for Clinton High School in Mississippi. In total in 2016, Akers threw for 3,128 yards and 31 touchdowns (vs. six interceptions) while running for 2,105 yards and 34 more scores. The other finalists for the award were: Eno Benjamin, Najee Harris, Richard LeCount, Tate Martell and Jaelan Phillips.
