Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich is expected to become the new head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.
This report only comes a few hours after ESPN reported Reich to be the heavy favorite to land the job.
Reich is most likely remembered most as a former NFL gunslinger who consistently led the Buffalo Bills to come-from-behind victories whenever Jim Kelly was nursing an injury. He led the Bills to the largest playoff rally in history in 1992, when Buffalo overcame a 32-point deficit to defeat the Houston Oilers.
Going back to the Colts is a bit of a logical move for Reich. He actually got his start in coaching with the Colts. First as an offensive coaching staff assistant and then as the quarterbacks coach way back in 2008. He also had coaching stints with the Cardinals and Chargers before joining the Eagles in 2016.
As most likely remember, the Colts were recently spurned by New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Having originally agreed to become the franchise's new head coach, McDaniels backed out in the last minute, leaving plenty of people upset.
Colts fans are certainly hoping Reich has a few more rallies left in him. Oh, and he doesn't randomly back out at the last second.
