Giants Announcer Turns Fantasy Football Punishment into Hilarious Opportunity

San Francisco Giants play-by-play announcer Dave Flemming served his fantasy football punishment on Monday night.

Finishing last in your fantasy football league could mean you need to serve some form of punishment, and San Francisco Giants announcer Dave Flemming had to live up to his end of the bargain.

As a baseball announcer, Flemming might not have much time to become a fantasy football expert. That tracks, since he finished last in his league this past NFL season, and the consequences followed on Monday.

The Giants played the Tampa Bay Rays at home on Monday. While they lost the game 10-2, they certainly didn't lose in the entertainment department — as Flemming's punishment forced him to wear a full Giants uniform and serve as the bat boy for three innings.

Look, as far as finishing last in a fantasy football league goes, this is nothing!

Over the years, there have been punishments such as tattoos or, in the case of Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis, being forced to eat a whole pack of uncooked hot dogs. Disgusting.

Still, even after three innings in his new role, Flemming admitted that it took a bit of a toll on him.

"I gotta hustle, man," Flemming said. "You do not want to get in the way of the game. So I'm hustling. ... I'm going to be icing down after this. I may not make it up [to the booth] for the fourth inning."

After three innings, Flemming was subbed out by the usual bat boy, Austin Ginn.

Flemming won't be the bat boy Tuesday night, as the Giants look to take a game from the Rays in this series. They play at 9:45 p.m. ET in San Francisco. The Giants are 63-56, and the Rays are 72-49.
