Alabama Won’t Give Ha Ha Clinton-Dix His Degree Because of $1

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix hasn't played a snap for the Alabama Crimson Tide since the 2013 season, but that doesn't mean the former star hasn't been around. Despite being in the NFL, the Pro Bowl safety has worked toward his criminal justice degree in Tuscaloosa. He thought he was done, too. There's just one small problem.

Although Clinton-Dix finished all of his course work, The University of Alabama isn't given him his degree because he still owes the school money in his official Student Account Balance.

So how much does he owe? $1. ONE FREAKING DOLLAR!

"I owe [$1]. I can't believe y'all been holding my degree for 100 pennies," he wrote on Twitter. "I though I didn't graduate, y'all dead wrong @uofalabama for doing ya boy like this."

For a man who just a signed a one-year, $3 million contract to play for the Chicago Bears this season, the money isn't the issue. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has made millions of dollars while recording 444 tackles and 14 interceptions in his five-year career. But to think he doesn't have his diploma because of a single dollar bill is insane.

After all, the former college football star even walked across the graduation stage and posted a picture with Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban last May.

A native of Orlando, Florida, safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is one of the most notable Alabama football defensive backs in program history. After being a high school All-American at Dr. Phillips High School, the 6-foot, 210-pounder held the Crimson Tide win the 2011 and 2012 BCS national championships and was a First-Team All SEC and Consensus All-American selection in 2013.

At Alabama, he recorded 99 total tackles, including 4.0 for loss, with seven interceptions in three seasons before being a first-round pick (No. 21 overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft. Clinton-Dix played five seasons with the Green Bay Packers and part of 2018 with the Washington Redskins.

It's not all that often you see a former player worth millions of dollars return to school to finish their degree, but it's always awesome when it happens. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix deserves a lot of credit for that and once he slides that George Washington in the mail, he can finally prove the degree he worked hard for.
