Mike Davis is headed west after getting picked 126th in the NFL Draft

The San Francisco 49'ers took former South Carolina running back Mike Davis with the 27th pick in the fourth round and 126th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft. Davis ranks ninth on Carolina's all-time rushing list with 2,440 yards. He also ranks in the Carolina top-10 in rushing touchdowns (tied for eighth with 22), average yards per carry (tied for eighth at 5.4) and touchdowns scored (tied for ninth with 24). He matched Brandon Bennett, Harold Green and Marcus Lattimore with 11 career 100-yard rushing games, behind only George Rogers. Davis added 70 career receptions for 755 yards and two scores.

Davis led the Gamecocks in rushing in each of the past two seasons, but was hampered by nagging injuries for much of the 2014 campaign. Davis still led the team with 199 carries for 982 yards rushing, falling just 18 yards short of joining George Rogers as the only players in school history to have multiple 1,000-yard rushing seasons.

Davis becomes coach Steve Spurrier's 102nd player taken in the draft and he has the most players drafted among active coaches.
