Ryan Mallett, Former NFL Quarterback and Arkansas Razorback, Dead Tragically at 35

Ryan Mallett, the former NFL quarterback who played for Arkansas, died at 35. He was working as a high school football coach.

Former NFL quarterback Ryan Mallett has died at the age of 35, according to reports.

The six-year NFL veteran and former Arkansas Razorback drowned in Florida, according to Deltaplex News. He was reportedly taken to a Florida hospital and pronounced dead there.

Mallett was hired by White Hall High School in Arkansas as the school's football coach in February. KNWA's Alyssa Orange reported on Twitter that the Superintendent of White Hall confirmed Mallett's death.

Mallett played in 21 NFL games across six seasons with the New England Patriots, Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens. A third-rounder in the 2011 NFL Draft, he set numerous records while playing quarterback for Arkansas from 2009-10.
