Scottie Pippen's Ex-Wife Set to Receive 'Fifty Percent' of Bulls Retirement Money

Scottie Pippen made more than $100 million playing in the NBA, and his ex-wife is set to receive a chunk of his retirement from the Bulls.

Getting a divorce is difficult enough, but when it's in the public eye, it's not something most of us can imagine — and that's what former Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen is dealing with right now.

A judge recently signed off on Scottie and Larsa Pippen's divorce agreement. They married in 1997, and after 19 years of marriage, the couple filed for divorce. They were separated for several years before the divorce agreement was signed by a judge on June 16.

Following the information of the divorce becoming public, Larsa released a statement saying, "After careful consideration and 19 years together, Larsa and Scottie have each filed for dissolution of their marriage." A publicist added, "Although they are no longer to be married, Larsa remains hopeful that she and Scottie will always do what is best for their four beautiful children and jointly raise them with love and respect. She would like to thank everyone for their understanding and kindly ask for privacy from the media during this difficult time of transition for her family."

As the divorce process progressed, The Blast reported that Larsa will receive "fifty percent" of all account balances related to Scottie's 401(k) and "savings plan trust," which was valued as close to their official date of separation on Nov. 3, 2016. Further, the order states she's entitled to that regardless of what the balance is now in 2023.

"To the extent, there are no assets in his account sufficient to satisfy the assignment benefit on the date a separate account is established for (Larsa), the order should be interpreted as an award of 100% of (Scottie's) vested account balance."

What's most interesting about this is that Larsa and Scottie had a prenuptial agreement, although the terms of it aren't known.

The "fifty percent" funds are also to be paid as a cash payment to Larsa "as soon as administratively possible following the approval of this order." The exact monetary figure in those accounts is unknown, but Pippen did make over $100 million while playing for the Bulls.

As a side note, to make this all the more intriguing, Larsa is dating Marcus Jordan. That last name might sound familiar to you. Yes, that's a son of Michael Jordan. Yes, that's the Michael Jordan who played with Scottie Pippen for the Bulls.

Since the divorce, Larsa has launched her jewelry line along with other businesses. She's also famously been on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and "The Real Housewives of Miami."
