Washington Huskies Running Back Accused Of Raping Two Women

University of Washington running back Tybo Rogers is facing serious charges after allegedly raping two women in two separate incidents in Seattle in 2003.

He has been booked into King County Jail as a result, per Fox News.

Rogers was charged with second-degree rape and third-degree rape, and his bail was set at $150,000 in each case, according to charging records, via Fox.

"Rogers, 18, played in the College Football Playoff for the Huskies as they defeated the Texas Longhorns in the semifinal and lost to the Michigan Wolverines in the national championship," Fox wrote. "According to the charging documents, at least one of the allegations was known to the school."

Rogers has been suspended from the team pending the investigation, the school announced in a statement.

"The University of Washington Intercollegiate Athletics Department is aware of the arrest of a football student-athlete by the Seattle Police Department," the school said in a statement, via Fox 13 Seattle. "The student-athlete has been suspended from all team activities until further notice. The UW will continue to gather facts and cooperate with law enforcement, as requested."

Rogers was a freshman running back at the time of the incidents and neither of his alleged victims was said to have known him from the football team. One of the victims said she began communicating with Rogers on social media.

"The first alleged incident occurred on Oct. 23 in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood," Fox 13 reported. "The 19-year-old woman told police on Oct. 28 that she had been raped by a man she matched with on the dating app, Tinder, two months earlier. The two briefly communicated on the app, talking about where they went to school. Rogers told the woman he was a football player at UW and she disclosed that she was a Seattle Central Community College student."

Rogers was briefly suspended from the team in November, and then reinstated in December. Why, exactly, he was suspended then has not been made public.
