Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is made for showmanship. It's a spectacle led by UFC ringleader Dana White, and man does this guy love when the action in the octagon has some extra juice.
Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier have cleaned out the entire juice section at the grocery store.
The two are set to square off in a trilogy bout as the headlining fight of UFC 264 in Las Vegas on Saturday night. McGregor won the first fight, a featherweight bout at UFC 178, in 2014 via a first-round TKO. Poirier returned the favor with a second-round knockout in the UFC 257 rematch in January this year. It's safe to say there is no love lost between the two.
It was extremely evident during the press conference for the UFC 264 main event that the hatchet will most likely never be buried. The event was filled with trash talk, and McGregor even brought family into the mix.
The Irishman's main target was Poirier's wife, Jolie.

Dustin "The Diamond" Poirier married his wife Jolie Poirier in 2009. Seven years later, they welcomed their daughter Parker Noelle. They reportedly met way back in middle school.
Jolie is the Vice President/Director of The Good Fight Foundation, a non-profit started by the couple that auctions off Dustin's UFC memorabilia to benefit underserved Louisiana communities. Dustin hails from the Bayou State.
Together, the two created Poirier's Louisiana Style Hot Sauce. According to heatonist.com, the recipe starts with the best cayenne peppers, fermented to round out the sting and up the flavor before finishing with vinegar, sea salt, celery and garlic.

The Poirier family seems to live a happy family life based on their social media posts.

RELATED: Who is Conor McGregor's Future Wife?
This is getting personal. Conor "The Notorious" McGregor posted a screenshot of an Instagram direct message request from Jolie in the week leading up the fight.
It was another mind game from the UFC superstar, who has a big reputation for trying to get in his opponents' heads. Fight fans didn't receive the message well.
"Oof. This is a low one. I think I can say on behalf of all MMA fans, we don't like this stuff," Twitter user Flavio Soares responded. Another user called McGregor a Jake Paul wannabe.
They say to never talk about another man's job. The same can be said about another man's wife.
McGregor brought the scandal to another level when he sent out a, well, aggressive (and very NSFW) low-blow tweet in response to Poirier calling his trash talk weak.

The trilogy fight at T-Mobile Arena holds more than personal weight. White said whoever wins will get a lightweight title shot against reigning champion Charles Oliveira. Poirier has been on a hot streak since 2017, winning seven of his last nine fights. His only loss came against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
As for McGregor, the former two-division champ is 3-3 in his last six fights.
We'll have to wait until McGregor vs. Poirier 3 to settle the score.
