It didn’t last long, but for a fleeting moment on Friday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter thought he’d actually been canned by the network. His phones and mobile devices, or more aptly put his lifelines, were deactivated and his world came to a screeching halt. It seems some unnamed employee at the worldwide leader in sports accidentally placed Schefter’s name on a terminated list. Just a guess, but that might not be the kind of clerical error that can be easily swept under the rug.
ESPN producer Seth Markman quickly took to Twitter to explain that Schefter had actually only been ousted as the result of a tech error. Schefter also went on Twitter to play along with the whole fiasco.
