This draft prospect used to be a top-10 lock, now no one knows where he'll land

Jaylon Smith's position as an NFL draft pick is one that's completely up in the air. Smith has top-10 potential, but concerns over Smith's knee has seen Smith tumble on some draft boards.

Luckily for Smith, the fall won't hurt as much as some might think, as the floor isn't too far from the ceiling.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Smith is expected to be off the board by the third round, with one coach saying he's still a late first to early second round pick.

Smith's uncertainty as a prospect is clearly reflected in no one knowing just how far he will fall. Picking Smith in the late first round is a testament to his talent, but the red flags are too serious to ignore.

Smith suffered a severe knee injury in Notre Dame's Fiesta Bowl that caused nerve damage to the player once viewed as a potential No. 1 pick. Smith will have to "redshirt" his rookie year and if his knee fully recovers, he'd be the steal of the draft if he's selected where he's projected.
