Brooklyn Nets reportedly exploring blockbuster trades

After getting knocked out in the second round of the NBA playoffs last season, the Brooklyn Nets have struggled to a 8-11 record this year and appear close to abandoning their current path.

According to ESPN, the Nets have reached out to other teams, making them aware former All-Stars Deron Williams, Brook Lopez and Joe Johnson are available for trade.

Brooklyn is sporting a $94 million payroll, Williams has ankle issues, Lopez has foot issues and the trio is the highest paid threesome in the NBA, making $58.7 million combined.

If a deal happens, it will likely be separate trades, but it’s hard to see Brooklyn shedding any of the three due to lack of complimentary assets, additional years on the player’s contracts and injuries. The report notes no trade is imminent.
