Who is the "Suns in 4" Guy Who Went Viral?

Fans were missing from in-person sporting events for more than a year thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. What a long year it was.

When people were finally allowed to return to arenas and stadiums, excitement was at an all-time high. The adrenaline was pumping, the beer was flowing and dynamite in-arena entertainment was back to make you uncomfortable by putting you on the kiss cam with your sister. Nature was healing.

For Nick McKellar, fists were flying.

The Phoenix Suns fan broke the internet with some punches and a three-word phrase. Now, his prediction is back in the news as Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns look to repeat their series victory over the Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.

As the old saying goes, "if you get your own action figure, you've made it."

Nick McKellar is a Suns fan based in Denver. When his team upset LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the NBA playoffs, he was delighted. Not only did his team take out the defending champs, he would have the opportunity to see them play against the Denver Nuggets.

McKellar was at the Ball Arena in Colorado's capital when his Suns were killing it. They were up by 15 in Game 3 of the second-round playoff series against the Denver Nuggets, who showed no signs of life.

McKellar took this opportunity to trash talk. He chirped apparently a little too loudly for some Denver Nuggets fans below. He described the altercation on Barstool Sports' Pardon My Take podcast:

"These two guys are walking up from the lower section and they took offense to [the trash talk]. They didn't like what I was saying. Homie with four watches is coming up to me and flaunting his fake jewelry. I gave him s*** about it. He pull out a wad of cash like it's going to change my opinion."

The scuffle seemed to be over until the Nuggets fan threw a punch at the last second. McKellar fired back with some haymakers of his own

"I turn my head for a second and I hear, 'watch out' and there's beer being poured on my head, my jersey's being tugged. Once someone puts their hand on my body and I feel threatened, instincts kick in. I start to defend myself. I start pushing them back, telling them to leave. Obviously, you see the video of Edgar, is what people like to call him. Eager Edgar throws a sloppy-a** sucker punch and the rest is history. I had the crowd initially on my side and that made everything just so much more perfect."

The brawl ended with the now-famous line: "Suns in four." He proved himself as a fighter and oracle, as the Suns handily took care of NBA MVP Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets in a sweep.

McKellar's fight made waves on social media and caught the attention of several NBA players. Suns star Devin Booker gifted the fan with a signed jersey and tickets to Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Los Angeles Clippers in Arizona.

Since going viral, McKellar has capitalized on the newfound fame. He's selling autographed basketballs, photos and a signed Steve Nash Suns Jersey he wore in the fight on Ebay. Not to mention he has an action figure.

According to his LinkedIn, McKellar is a former University of Colorado student. It's unclear what he does when he's not brawling in the stands of NBA playoff games.

The Suns tore through the Western Conference after the viral proclamation.Led by Booker and NBA All-Star Chris Paul, Phoenix reached its first NBA Finals since 1993 and squared off against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Although the Suns lost that series, they're back again, ready to take on the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics or New York Knicks in the finals. But first, they have to get there.
