28-year-old former NFL player has reportedly been killed, and police opened an investigation

Eddins, 28, played one game for the Buffalo Bills and played college football at Ball State.

Former NFL defensive end Robert Eddins was reportedly found dead inside his home in Detroit along with another man, per Fox 2.

"There's at least one if not more individuals that just committed a double murder," said Capt. Kurt Worboys, Detroit police.

According to the report, a gas stove was left on inside the home, leaving investigators with the idea that it was part of a coverup. There were no signs of forced entry, per the report.

"All they know is they went out last night," Bridget Eddins said. "There isn't a car here. There's nothing here. That's his dad's truck. He came here and found him. That's all we know, dead in the basement. Shot."
