A Steelers fan passed away on Monday reported due to injuries suffered in an altercation with a Cowboys fan at Heinz Field on Sunday.
WPXI in Pittsburgh was the first to report the story.
A 44-year old man identified as William Laughlin was reportedly involved in a fight at Heinz Field after the Cowboys' 35-30 win over the Steelers. Details on the reported fight seem to be slim, but it appears that Laughlin suffered no apparent injuries at the time, and that he later went out drinking that night before returning home.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance video from the stadium. No suspects have been identified.
Police sources said that after the fight, Laughlin went out drinking before returning to his Baldwin home and going to sleep. He never woke up.
Heinz Field management released their own statement on Wednesday.
"Heinz Field Management has become aware that the City of Pittsburgh Police are investigating the death of a fan who attended the game at Heinz Field on Sunday. Regrettably, the individual fan apparently died at home last evening.
"Heinz Field Management will not release any further information given the ongoing Police investigation. That is all the information we have available at this time."
