It feels like the NFL season began just yesterday, instead, we're in the middle of October, and Week 5 has just wrapped up.
There was some exciting football this weekend, but the week didn't exactly start that enthusiastically with the Denver Broncos hosting the Indianapolis Colts (more on this game later).
However, there were plenty of high point totals, and New Orleans Saints quarterback, tight end, and just "offensive playmaker" Taysom Hill reiterated to football fans everywhere how he is a force to be reckoned with by running in three touchdowns and throwing one through the air.
If you went up against Hill, this was likely a pretty bad beat for your fantasy team.
Speaking of bad beats, we have a few to go over in Week 5. However, there really weren't all that many last-minute turnings of the tide. Still, we have some to cover, so let's dive in.
Denver Broncos vs. Indianapolis Colts

Bad Beat: Broncos -3
There's not much to say here, but this game was an atrocious eyesore. Not a single touchdown was scored. Instead, we got seven field goals. To make matters worse, we had to go into overtime to decide this one.
The starting quarterbacks, Matt Ryan of the Colts and Russell Wilson of the Broncos, had this combined stat line: 47 completions on 80 passes, 525 yards, four interceptions, and each were sacked 10 times.
This was just a bad game overall. The bad beat isn't so much the point spread here but rather the viewers.
Green Bay Packers vs. New York Giants

Bad Beat: Packers -8
Live from across the pond, we had the Packers taking on the Giants in London. After this game, it's official: Laying down more than a touchdown with the Packers is a bad idea from here on out.
The Packers were leading 20-10 with 7:57 left in the third quarter, then, the Giants kicked a field goal to make it just a seven-point lead. With Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, the Packers can undoubtedly score again and have their defense shut down the Giants and Daniel Jones, right?
That's not what happened.
The Giants scored a touchdown with 10:08 left in the fourth quarter to tie the game, then took a 27-20 lead with 6:08 remaining. The Packers would get two points from a safety, but it didn't matter. They collapsed and were outscored 17-2 in the second half and not only didn't cover but lost outright.
The Giants are now 4-1 and look like a decent candidate to potentially make a run at the postseason, which is a shocker.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Atlanta Falcons

Bad Beat: Buccaneers -10
While 10 points with this Buccaneers team is a lot, they had a stranglehold on this point spread for a good portion of the game.
The Buccaneers were up 21-0 with 6:09 in the third quarter and held that lead until 13:39 in the fourth quarter. The lead shrunk to 14 after Falcons running back Avery Williams scored a touchdown on the ground. Still, the -10 was intact.
About 10 minutes later, with 4:38 left in the fourth quarter, Falcons wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus caught a touchdown, and KhaDarel Hodge completed a two-point conversion.
The Buccaneers defense held the Falcons down all game long, but the scoring drive that broke the cover went 12 plays for 70 yards and was over five minutes long.
The Buccaneers were outscored 15-0 from 6:09 in the third quarter and on. They would have covered if they could have prevented the two-point conversion and kicked a field goal.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Houston Texans

Bad Beat: Jaguars -7
There's not much to discuss about a 13-6 home loss for the Jaguars other than to say it's quite hilarious that they were a seven-point favorite and didn't even score seven points themselves. In the eyes of betting, they lost this game 13 to -1.
Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence completed 25 of 47 passes for 286 yards and two interceptions. He wasn't sacked a single time, but the Jaguars just couldn't get anything going.
