Panthers fan who sucker-punched older gentleman now facing legal action odubco on Instagram

Fights at NFL games are unfortunately not all that uncommon, but the actions of one Panthers fan completely went over the line when he sucker punched a fellow fan in the upper decks of Bank of America stadium.

The assailant was much younger than his victim and he did not hold back his punches, which landed with ferocious accuracy. The older man was battered and bloodied, and the assault was caught on film, which is bad news for Kyle Adam Maraghy, the attacker.

Shortly after the video surfaced online Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD started looking into the case.

It didn’t take long for the police to apprehend Maraghy, who was charged with simple assault — with the evidence against him crystal clear and rather damning.

The Panthers helped identify the suspect and also released a statement on the matter, as passed on by Deadspin.

We have reviewed video tape of the incident and have identified the perpetrator. We are working with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department to pursue charges to the fullest extent of the law.

The Carolina Panthers are committed to a fan-friendly and family-friendly stadium experience. The behavior exhibited by the perpetrator is unacceptable and will not be condoned at Bank of America Stadium.

Deadspin also reports that Maraghy — who’s 26-years-old — does have a rap sheet. They cite North Carolina court records that indicate he has been charged with a number of crimes, including assault and battery as well as possession of LSD.

There’s no room for what Maraghy did anywhere, let alone at a football game.
