Former Ohio State and current Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott faced a major controversy starting back in June, as Elliott's ex-girlfriend claimed that the football star assaulted her. The girlfriend posted pictures of bruises online, claiming that they came from Elliott.

Elliott claimed otherwise, and it looks like the case has taken the next step. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Elliott will not be prosecuted by the Columbus City Attorney's Office due to conflicting statements on the case.
Elliott has been under fire often since he was drafted No. 4 by the Cowboys in this year's draft, so this was a major hurdle he had to get over in order to calm down the media storm surrounding him.

The running back has faced other controversies this offseason, including video of him inside a marijuana dispensary before a preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Whether or not Elliott is done with this case is yet to be seen, but it looks like he will be in the clear as the season starts later this week.
