Davante Adams' Wife Has Been by His Side Since College

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams has been torching opposing secondaries for a living and doing so with ease while playing alongside quarterbacks like Aaron Rodgers and Derek Carr.

Adams has played ten seasons in the NFL, but didn't truly post a breakout year until 2017. Since then, he's become one of the top wideouts in the league, and while he is experiencing a level of fame he may have never anticipated, he has had a supportive wife that has been by his side since before he ever became a superstar.

Davante Lavell Adams has been married to his former longtime girlfriend Devanne Villarreal since 2018, when they tied the knot in a ceremony at Pebble Beach in California. He proposed to Villareal in 2017 while on vacation in the Bahamas.

Davante and Devanne (which, by the way, is an awesome couple of first names) met in college while Adams was a college football wide receiver for the Fresno State Bulldogs. The Adams family had its first child in 2019, welcoming baby girl Deija Leigh Adams to the world. Naturally, the college sweethearts posted an adorable photoshoot to social media to show off the newest member of their family. Devanne (@_devadams) posted a photo with the caption, "Love of my life, Daija Leigh Adams."

In April of 2022, the NFL player and his wife welcomed their second child, Dezi Lynn Adams, bringing their roster to four.

Prior to the birth of his second child, Adams talked about the importance of fatherhood in an interview with Mirin Fader from The Ringer.

"My only fear in life is being away from my daughter," he said. "Not being able to have my daughter in my life. I just think about the fact that I kinda have a lot of fears based off of it. All pertaining to her. How much I care, and just value her life."

While Adams was pursuing his career as an American football player, Villarreal opted to finish her degree at Fresno State. After graduating, she reportedly worked as an esthetician. The family currently resides in Las Vegas in a 10,000-square foot home after previously living in Wisconsin.

Davante Adams was born in Redwood City, California, to parents Douglas Adams and Pamela Brown. Adams starred for the football team at Palo Alto High School, helping lead the team to a CIF State Championship victory.

After high school, Adams attended California State University, Fresno, where he earned All-American honors as a freshman and was named the MWC Freshman of the Year. He played four years for Fresno State before declaring for the 2014 NFL Draft. The Green Bay Packers selected him in the second round as the 53rd overall pick, and his then-girlfriend Devanne was right by his side.

Adams made his first Pro Bowl in 2017 and hasn't missed one since. He was a first-team All-Pro wide receiver in 2020 for the first time in his career, proving himself as one of the National Football League's best wide receivers.

Throughout his career in Green Bay, Adams has caught 62 receiving touchdowns and racked up more than 6,500 receiving yards.

However, after eight seasons in Wisconsin, the Packers decided to part ways with their star receiver, sending him to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for Vegas' first and second-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft. After the trade, the Raiders signed Adams to a five-year, $141.25M deal, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL at the time of the signing.

While things have soured quickly for Adams in Las Vegas, the star wide receiver has still accumulated enough accolades to currently have a Hall of Fame-worthy resume. Adams' accomplishments include three first-team All-Pro selections, six Pro Bowl appearances, and two receiving touchdown titles in the 2020 and 2022 seasons.

Davante Adams is one of the best receivers in the game, and his biggest fans in the world are his two girls at home.
