The Dallas Cowboys only rushed 22 times in Sunday night’s game against the Giants. This was their first match without DeMarco Murray at running back and although the Cowboys pulled off a 27-26 victory over the Giants, they would’ve liked to have ran the ball more.

“Our goal is still to get up there running the ball 25-30 times a game,” Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said via 105.3 KRLD-FM. “I think we ended up rushing about 22 times, so we’d like four or five more rushes on there, but this group is very productive.”

Together, running backs DeMarco Murray, Joseph Randle and Lance Dunbar averaged 29.5 carries per game in 2014. Hopefully, the Cowboys can keep up with that record this season.

Despite lack of success, Cowboys aren’t straying away from this part of their gameplan
