Few people are believing Todd Bowles when he says this about his quarterbacks
at Coliseum on November 1, 2015 in Oakland, California.

And, he said this with a straight face.

New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles might just go for Geno Smith after Ryan Fitzpatrick hurt his non-throwing hand playing against the Oakland Raiders. The starting quarterback had surgery on Friday, but did not practice Monday.

If Fitzpatrick continues to sit out, it will fall on Smith to lead the team against the Texans this Sunday.

“I’m fine with [Smith] starting,” Bowles said, per The New York Post. “He’s made great progress. He’s learned a lot under Ryan. He threw the ball well in Oakland for the most part, so if he has to play we’ll just keep on moving.”

Really? This is the guy who got sucker punched by one of his former teammates, had seemingly lost the locker room, and has no history of sustained success as an NFL QB. Keep telling us that, Todd.
