The New England Patriots have yet to make a decision on the future of backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, but the Cleveland Browns could make a move for the QB as early as next week.

A recent report from Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland details how the Browns are prepared to "make another run" for Garoppolo at the NFL owners meetings, which begin Sunday, March 26 in Phoenix. Grossi wrote that the Patriots will either slam the door on a trade or the Browns will make inroads.
The Browns have two draft picks in the first round (No. 1 and No. 12), and they have two picks in the second round (No. 33 and No. 52). They have the assets to trade for Garoppolo, but it could cost the team more than one first-round pick.
The Patriots don't have any picks in the first or second round of this year's draft, and Bill Belichick is expected to deal either Garoppolo or cornerback Malcolm Butler to recoup a first-round pick.
Cleveland has Brock Osweiler, Kevin Hogan and Cody Kessler on the roster at QB now, but the odds that one of those three will be the starter to start the season aren't great. The Browns are either expected to trade for Garoppolo or draft a QB early in the 2017 draft.
