Jay Cutler, Kristin Cavallari Divorcing After 10 Years Together

My boss brings a few sayings to every meeting, but his favorite by far goes: "Change is the only constant." No one can predict life's challenges that lie ahead, and sometimes, even a seemingly perfect situation changes and comes to end.

Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler and reality TV star Kristin Cavallari are ending their seven years of marriage and decade-long relationship. Confirmed to US Weekly, the couple officially filed for divorce on Friday, April 24.

Both Cutler, 36, and Cavallari, 33, shared the exact same statement in separate Instagram posts two days later. Both posts included different photographs of the couple.

"With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce. We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family."

Cutler and Cavallari married in June 2013 and share three children together — sons Camden Jack and Jaxon Wyatt, and also daughter Saylor James.

When they first tied the knot, Cutler was entering his age-30 season as the Chicago Bears' starting quarterback. Cutler signed a seven-year, $126 million contract with the organization in 2014 despite only reaching the playoffs one time during his career. Cutler retired following the 2016 season, but returned for one year to lead the Miami Dolphins to a 6-8 record as their starter before hanging it up for good.

Though Cutler only made one career Pro Bowl when he was still with the Denver Broncos, the 11th overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft threw for over 35,000 passing yards and 227 touchdowns during his 12-year career.

Cavallari starred on MTV's reality shows Laguna Beach and The Hills in the mid- to late-2000s. She parlayed that success into acting roles in several TV shows and movies. The mother of three also appeared as a guest judge on America's Next Top Model and was a contestant on Season 13 of Dancing with the Stars.

Very Cavallari on E! follows both Kristin and Jay's lives in Nashville, Tennessee, where Cavallari opened her own jewelry store called Uncommon James. The show's 30th episode aired on March 19, 2020.

The split seems mutual at the surface, but that's not stopping rumors of infidelity from swarming the couple.

As with any public breakup, rumors swirl. Cutler and Cavallari's split is no different.

After Cavallari and longtime best friend Kelly Henderson had a falling out, some of which was documented on Very Cavallari, rumors began that Cutler cheated on his wife with her best friend. A source told PEOPLE, however, that the couple's split had "absolutely nothing to do" with those cheating rumors.

The couple recently returned from a three-week trip to the Bahamas, which was prolonged due to the coronavirus pandemic and spread of COVID-19. According to PEOPLE, the couple planned on separating before taking the trip with their three kids and some friends.
