Pregame coin tosses are usually the standard handshake and hugs from players, but rarely do they have any meaning behind them. On Sunday, the Rams changed that up a bit.
In 2012, St. Louis traded Washington its slot in the draft so the Redskins could select Robert Griffin III. That trade didn’t turn out so well. St. Louis received three first-round picks and one second-round selection for their spot.
During Sunday’s game, Rams head coach Jeff Fisher named the six players his team acquired from the trade as coin toss captains: Janoris Jenkins, Steadman Bailey, Michael Brockers, Alec Ogletree, Greg Robinson and Zac Stacy.
This is one of the cleverest trolls I have seen in a while. It’s an obvious slap in the face to Washington.
St. Louis ended up embarrassing Washington 24-0. And Robert Griffin III remains on the bench as Colt McCoy continues to lead the Redskins. What an awful trade.
