Only ten NFL athletes have managed to be named Most Valuable Player more than once, and the Kansas City Chiefs phenom quarterback is now lucky enough to find himself amongst some of the greatest to play in the league. Patrick Mahomes ties legendary Joe Montana, Steve Young and Kurt Warner with two MVP trophies and sit below the remaining five greats; Peyton Manning (5 MVPs), Aaron Rodgers (4), Tom Brady (3), Jim Brown (3), Brett Favre (3) and  Johnny Unitas (3). That's quite the company to keep for the young Chiefs quarterback, who has managed to start three Super Bowls within his first six seasons. The only other quarterback in NFL history to do that has been widely called the greatest to ever play, Tom Brady.

It was clear the newly crowned MVP was having an MVP caliber season early on and the Mahomes Magic was so palpable it led him to a nearly unanimous vote. The Kansas City star secured the MVP trophy receiving 48 of the 50 votes. Patrick Mahomes leadership and video game level play has propelled Kansas City to Super Bowl LVII. Can the beloved Kansas City Chiefs quarterback parlay the honor of MVP into his second Super Bowl win. It's clearly Patrick Mahomes' goal.

"I would never be standing here today without y'all," Mahomes said, speaking about his teammates, "every day giving everything we have together, going for our ultimate goal: the Super Bowl. Let's continue to go for that dream this weekend.

If the two-time MVP winner can lead his Kansas City Chiefs to another Super Bowl victory, he will become the first MVP to win both in the same year since the nineties. Kurt Warner was the last Most Valuable Player (1999)  to hoist the Lombardi Trophy in the same year. Mahomes could also become the first quarterback in NFL history to both lead the NFL in pass yards (Mahomes was first with 5,250 pass yards this season) and win a Super Bowl in the same season. While both feats seem insurmountable, counting out Patrick Mahomes' undeniable talent, explosive rotating offensive weaponry, hungry defense, and all the momentum building this year seems risky. The Kansas City quarterback has a wicked way of making the improbable completions and grim looking games absolutely winnable.

At the end Super Bowl LVII either the Philadelphia Eagles or the Kansas City Chiefs, tight-end Travis Kelce or center Jason Kelce, quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes or Jalen Hurts, Head Coaches Andy Reid or Nick Sirianni will have the privilege of hoisting the Lombardi Trophy in joyous celebration. Until then, in celebration of the NFL's most recently crowned Most Valuable Player, Patrick Mahomes, let's take a look at some of his most head shaking worthy plays. No matter what team you're a fan of, or which quarterback you root for, if you're a true fan of football  action, it's impossible to not feel grateful to be living during this electric time of richly talented young NFL quarterbacks. So here's to our 2022 Most Valuable Player, Patrick Mahomes - is it Mahomes magic or is he simply not human?

This season has been a strung together with a slew of improbable completions by Mahomes, whether he's passing to Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Justin Watson or Kadarius Toney, the Kansas City gunslinger launches passes sometimes with as low as a 18.2% chance of completion. And when the Chiefs star quarterback isn't blowing our minds with no look passes he's extending play action with his legs.

Mahomes' reliable target, Travis Kelce, believes the Chiefs quarterback is only getting better, which to fans; seems impossible.  "I think we've just seen him grow as a quarterback. His talent level goes far beyond his ability to instinctually just go out there," Kelce said when speaking to the press in Phoenix. "He's playing a step ahead. He's almost playing chess out there. . . . He's got three of four moves already in his pocket, depending on what the defense does. That's what's going to make him the greatest to ever go down.

He's truly a do-whatever-it-takes winning quarterback and these are just five of his standout moves from this year's MVP season.
