After spiking the ball, to make it a 3rd & 3 at the KC 32-yard line, the Raiders just needed to run one play and then attempt the game-winning field goal.

However, quarterback Aiden O'Connell had the ball snapped to him when he wasn't expecting it, and as a result the Chiefs recovered the fumble and won 19-17.

To note, a penalty was thrown on the play which was because of a false start, that was later changed to an illegal shift by the Raiders. Ultimately, it was ruled Chiefs' ball after they declined the penalty.

With this in mind, Raiders fans are also outraged because the whistle was blown before the fumble was even recovered.

Some believe it should have just been a dead-ball penalty, which means it wouldn't have been a change of possession.

In view of the chances the Raiders had late in the game, kicker Daniel Carlson had three missed kicks (1-for-4), and one of which included a potential game-winning 58-yard field goal with 2:21 left in regulation.

In what some are calling yet another lucky Chiefs win, Patrick Mahomes had 306 passing yards and a touchdown pass to Justin Watson. To point out, this means the two-time MVP has now passed Len Dawson to overtake the franchise touchdown record (238).

Despite the last play blunder, second-year Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell had a career-high 340 passing yards to go along with two touchdowns.

Also in the heartbreaking loss, Raiders Rookie tight end Brock Bowers set a career-high with 140 receiving yards on 10 catches, in addition to a touchdown catch.

The Chiefs now improve to a tied NFL-best 11-1 record (Lions 11-1) on the season, while the Raiders drop to 2-10.
