On behalf of Tom Brady, the NFL Players Association filed an appeal to fight the four-game suspension he received for his role in deflating footballs in the AFC Championship game Thursday afternoon. In a surprising turn of events, commissioner Roger Goodell will hear Brady’s appeal, according to Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman.
This is really interesting because Goodell will now have to validate the work of an independent investigator (Ted Wells) that he actually hired to do the work. I don’t know how it’s possible to go against the guy you hired or the guy who was in charge of delivering out the suspension — Troy Vincent, who is employed by the NFL.
It will be interesting to see how the Patriots react to this news.
