Rumor: Buccaneers trying to pair Jameis Winston with a former 5-time Pro Bowler

Some have even suggested that the team is just "mailing it in" and preparing for a long rebuilding project under new head coach Sean McDermott.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reportedly looking into getting Jameis Winston even more help in the backfield.

According to Pat Moran, a Buffalo Bills blogger in the Tampa area, there is a growing buzz that the Bucs are trying to acquire Bills running back Lesean McCoy.

Moran did, however, confirm that this is all speculation.

Still, it's a move that makes sense with Tampa Bay seemingly all-in on Winston, a former No. 1 overall pick who enters his third season, as its franchise quarterback with expectations high entering the season.

McCoy, a five-time Pro Bowler, recorded 1,267 yards and 13 touchdowns on 234 rushing attempts, as well as 50 receptions for 356 yards and a touchdown in 2016.

Last week, Evan Silva of Rotoworld said that he expects Buffalo to be open to trade talks for both the star running back and starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor.

Buffalo has made several questionable moves this offseason including trading former No. 4 overall pick Sammy Watkins to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for cornerback E.J. Gaines before trading for former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jordan Matthews shortly after.

Some have even suggested that the team is just "mailing it in" and preparing for a long rebuilding project under new head coach Sean McDermott, which would explain its willingness to part ways with McCoy, arguably its best player.
