Reports started circulating Tuesday that the Cleveland Browns could make the dumbest move ever by selecting a quarterback - maybe North Carolina's Mitch Trubisky - No 1., instead of the consensus choice at the spot, Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett.
Now, we know why.

Mike Freeman over at Bleacher Report offers two interesting tidbits. First, the Browns are interested in trading down to accumulate even more draft picks (they have 11 so far in this draft alone); and that there's a schism in the Browns front office. He writes:
I also hear that the front office and (coach) Hue Jackson are clashing a bit over the direction they want to go. Hue wants a quarterback from the draft and they don't.
First, on the trading down. The Browns have a chance to draft a real difference maker on defense in Garrett, a player draft guru Greg Cosell calls a better pass rushing prospect than Jadeveon Clowney.
Next, there's a difference between taking "a quarterback from the draft" and taking a project out of college who can't start from day one as the overall No. 1 pick, as this report suggested.
A quarterback at No. 1? If the Browns do that, it will be the most Browns move ever.
