Canucks’ Bieksa penalized for check to the head of Stalberg

Early in the first period of the Vancouver Canucks matchup with the Nashville Predators the Canucks’ Kevin Bieksa was penalized for a high hard hit to Viktor Stalberg’s head.  As Stalberg was trying to work his way around the back of the net and past Vancouver’s Bo Horvat, Bieksa skated in and leveled Stalberg with a shoulder to his head. Bieksa managed to only be assessed a minor penalty for the hit.

Stalberg would leave the game shaken up, but he would return.  While Bieksa would only get a minor for this hit, he would later get tossed for a game misconduct along with teammate Alex Burrows.  The Canucks (45-27-5) would beat the Predators (47-22-9) in a shootout, 5-4.
