Joey Logano's In-Car Camera Shows His Race-Ending Wreck at Las Vegas

Luck was not on Joey Logano's side this past Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, as the driver of the No. 22 Ford for Team Penske wrecked out on Lap 182 of the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube.

While Logano started in the pole position and ran inside the top 15 for the majority of the NASCAR Cup Series race, things went south when he tried fighting for position with Brad Keselowski coming into the turn with about 85 laps to go. Logano and Keselowski made contact, which sent Logano bouncing off the wall and skidding into the infield. Logano was able to drive his car into pit road, but his crew wasn't able to get it fixed in time (drivers are given 10 minutes to get their cars fixed according to the Damaged Vehicle Policy). Logano was ultimately forced into the garage and credited with a 36th-place finish.

In the below clip taken from Logano's in-car camera, you can see the exact moment when everything went wrong for the defending Cup Series champion.

"Considering how we've been here in the past, you kind of expect it a little bit more performance today than what we had," Logano said in the post-race interview. "Just off on overall speed. We had the balance somewhat close — just not fast. We have to go back to the drawing board for when we come back here."

When asked if Keselowski pinched him in the corner during the fight for position, Logano admitted that was the case but had no hard feelings about the incident. According to Logano, it was all just a product of aggressive racing.

"Yeah, he did," Logano said. "I'm sure he didn't mean to do it. It is what it is. What are you going to do, right? We got fenced."
