Saturday Nights' Busch Light Clash at the Los Angeles Coliseum saw plenty of drama between several drivers. Denny Hamlin was the lucky driver to come out with the win, with Kyle Busch and 2023 Cup Series Champion Ryan Blaney right behind him.
The craziness of the race hasn't died off as Blaney had some controversy he wanted to make of his own. Blaney claimed that Hamlin didn't get a clean final restart over the rest of the field.
Though it was only an exhibition race, Hamlin had a much easier night given he started on the pole, while Blaney had to come from 23rd to earn his third-place finish.
During a postrace press conference, Blaney was asked by Daniel McFadin from Frontstetch.com if he thought Hamlin got an early jump during the final restart. Blaney was very open in his answer but knew it wouldn't have made a difference if Hamlin jumped the restart or not.
"Yeah, by a few feet," Blaney said. "Obviously he kicked my ass on the restart so I'm going to say he jumped, but I thought it was a few feet early. It didn't make a difference."
Though he thought about Hamlin's possible jump on the final restart, Blaney also admitted he had a rough restart.
"I got a terrible restart on the last one. Probably wouldn't have won anyway, but came from a long way back, so it was fun," Blaney said.
Hamlin struggled with his car at the end of the race, smoking the tires on every corner for the final 10 laps or so but he had enough to stay ahead of Busch and Blaney.
There were plenty of angry drivers during The Clash, including Hamlin's teammate, Ty Gibbs, who got into it with Joey Logano following the race.
Luckily, Hamlin's possible jump didn't cause any fights with Blaney or anyone else for that matter.
