The Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum saw another run-in between Ty Gibbs and Joey Logano. Could this be NASCAR's newest rivalry?
A restart with 10 laps to go saw Gibbs and Logano on the front row next to each other. The two drivers entered turn one side by side and Gibbs slid up the track into Logano sending him towards the outside wall. This sent Logano from second to sixth, essentially ending his chances to win the race. Gibbs would lose the lead in the process to teammate and eventual race winner, Denny Hamlin.
This is not the first time these two have gotten into each other on the racetrack. At Martinsville back in October, Gibbs and Logano were battling for third place and Logano sent Gibbs spinning in turn 3. This even got the attention of Hamlin who was running right in front of them two when the contact occurred.
"Joey is such a piece of s*** human being" Hamlin said on the radio.
After the incident on Saturday night, an upset Logano confronted Gibbs at his hauler. Both drivers were animated in their conversation as they clearly didn't see things the same way. There was no physical confrontation in this instance.
Afterwards, Logano spoke about the incident.

"Ahh, he just used me up all the way to the wall," Logano said. "There's a fine line of kind of pushing each other up a little bit racing for a win. And using me up with the history that he has with me is not a good idea for him."
Getting into rivalries with Joe Gibbs Racing drivers is not something new for Logano, as he has had his issues with Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr., Matt Kenseth and now Ty Gibbs.
The run-ins between Gibbs and Logano may spark NASCAR's next big rivalry and it will be interesting to see if any of this carries over into the Daytona 500 on Feb. 18 and beyond in the 2024 season.
